“I’m passionate about coaching established and emerging leaders to reach their full potential as communicators, and obsessive about helping them achieve their communications and business goals. I tell my clients that if they’re willing to put in the work, they will absolutely see results.”
For nearly two decades, Penny has coached executives in complex industries like healthcare, technology, and defense to communicate as leaders in urgent, high-pressure environments. She is recognized for her ability to quickly distill essential messages from complex data and draw the best performances from even the most reluctant presenters.
Penny’s approach is a unique blend of tough, supportive, and practical. Whether coaching individuals or groups, she meets executives where they are, tailoring each session to the situation, audience, and goals — and to the executives’ experience levels and individual styles.
Penny spent more than 15 years covering business, politics, and healthcare as a TV news anchor and reporter in major markets including New York, Chicago, Washington, D.C., and Miami. Penny uses this experience to get clients ready for challenging Q&A sessions with critical internal and external audiences, including an increasingly skeptical press. Penny earned a BA in English from the University of Michigan and a MS in Broadcast Journalism from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism.
Penny is strongly committed to children. She serves on the board of Maryland CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), an organization that advocates and cares for foster children. She also volunteers with foster and homeless teens, teaching communications skills for college, work, and life. In her spare time, Penny loves swimming, boating, reading, and real estate.
