Virginia brings a unique blend of high-level strategic communications skills and firsthand regulatory and political experience to clients. She is recognized for her ability to quickly uncover challenges, ask the right questions, and create communications opportunities in highly scrutinized industries.

Approach

Virginia’s years of experience at the highest levels of healthcare and government, combined with her background in law, enable her to approach any communications challenge with a critical eye and sound advice. Virginia believes that everyone has what it takes to become an effective communicator if they have the right tools and guidance. She works closely with C-Suite executives, emerging leaders, and teams to ensure they are prepared, confident, and ready for whatever communications challenge comes their way.

Background

Prior to rejoining 3D Communications, Virginia was the highest-ranking communications officer at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). As the Associate Commissioner for the Office of External Affairs, she provided strategic leadership and communications oversight to a wide range of agency activities. She also served as a special assistant to the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and as the FDA Commissioner’s director of outreach and strategic initiatives. Before working at the FDA, Virginia worked at 3D Communications and the Consumer Healthcare Products Association, where she was senior vice president for communications and strategic initiatives. Virginia received her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Los Angeles. She received her law degree from Georgetown University School of Law and is a member of the Maryland Bar.

Special Interests

Virginia supports numerous charities supporting cancer research, ending childhood hunger, rescuing animals, and preserving the environment. As a mother of two competitive athletes, she spends most of her free time on the ski slopes or the side of a soccer field. A perfect day includes skiing with her family, hiking with her dog, and cooking with her husband.
